DEATH ON DEMAND

Author:  Carolyn Hart
Genre:  Mystery,
Death on Demand Series #1
Published:  1987
Personal Rating:  2.5/5 (eh)
Format:  Audiobook
Yearly Count:  46

A man about to reveal secrets is murdered at a meeting in the Death on Demand mystery bookstore and the owner is being accused.

I've been a wee bit curious about this cozy series, so when I stumbled upon the audiobook, I thought I'd give it a chance.  It was rather a slow story, but it wasn't bad.  However, when I was just listening and not caring, I realized that I wasn't really enjoying it.  The 22nd book in this series just came out last month, so apparently it has some following.

  1. I wonder if it's the genre. I recently listened to a mystery that a lot of people have loved and I didn't love it on audio.

Joy, this is a series that I've read for many, many years. I think I read this one close after it first was published. At that time, there were not so many choices and it was the first book that I ever read that included a mystery bookstore. Such a concept, I thought, at the time. LOL

    1. Kay ~ That's so interesting, Kay! The evolution of publishing is quite astounding, isn't it? I'm not a huge fan of cozy mysteries, but I like one every now and then. Reading any more in the series is not likely, but you never know!

I love cozy mysteries....but for some reason I can't get through these either. Right now I am reading, by your recommendation...Fractured. Can't put it down.

    1. Danielle ~ Is that you, Danielle? Fractured is the second in the Will Trent series. Did you read the first one titled Triptych? I thought it was excellent.

  4. I've never even heard of it! There are so many cozies out there to read that I get overwhelmed trying to pick a series to start.

    1. Staci ~ I've seen this one for years and years. When I saw the audio of the first one at the library, I decided to give it a try. However, it's been sitting in my iTunes for years as well. :)
