THE NEIGHBOR

Author:  Lisa Gardner
Genre:  Mystery, D.D. Warren Series #3
Published:  2009
Personal Rating:  4.25/5 (very good +)
Format:  Audiobook
Yearly Count:  52

A small family of three looks charming on the outside, but something is amiss when the young mother disappears in the middle of the night, leaving her 4-year-old daughter home alone.

I enjoyed the multitude of suspects and the fact that I was unable to figure out who was really telling the truth.  That held my interest to the very end.  I also liked that it was told by a variety of narrators.  The only thing I found missing was suspense.  I was not sitting on the edge of my seat and/or shocked by anything, but it truly was a very good whodunit audioread*.  I'm really looking forward to the next in the series titled Live To Tell, which is already queued up on my iPod!

  1. I am just about finished with Catch Me the latest DD Warren book on audio. Ever since listening to the second book, I always choose audio over print.

  2. I love the DD Warren books! This is the first one I read though, so I don't remember it too well. I'll be posting a review of her newest one soon, tomorrow I think.

  3. I don't think I've listened to a book read by more than one narrator yet. I noticed the "audioread" term at SA this week too :-)
