TAKEN

Author:  Robert Crais
Genre:  Mystery,
Elvis Cole #13 & Joe Pike #4
Published:  2012
Personal Rating:  3/5 (just okay)
Format/Narrator:  Audiobook/Luke Daniels
Yearly Count:  76

A mother hires Elvis to find her missing adult daughter.  She gets a ransom call from her, which sounds off and thinks her daughter's boyfriend is involved.

This one only mildly kept my interest.  It seemed so similar to other Elvis books in the series that it felt humdrum.  And, Joe Pike's voice was a raspy whisper that sounded foolish.  I think after reading so many good, detailed, intriguing mysteries, this series just isn't as important to me anymore.

  1. I guess it's hard to keep the excitement in a series.

  2. What I love the most about your reviews is that you tell us exactly what didn't work and the raspy whisper would be too much for me to handle!!!

    1. Staci ~ I'm sure there are people in this world with that type of voice, so I mean no offense to them. It just sounds ridiculous in this audiobook.

    2. I never took any offense...raspy would just be annoying to me if it didn't fit the character! :D
