CINDER

Genre:  YA Sci-Fi, Lunar Chronicles #1
Published:  2012
Personal Rating:  DNF #1
Format/Narrator:  Audiobook/Rebecca Soler

Well.  I'm starting out this year with a bang!  Actually, I'm very proud of myself for not continuing with this audiobook.  I listened to 2 of 8 CDs, and I'm not enjoying it.  I have absolutely no interest in the storyline or the characters.  It is time to move on.  Yay me!  :)

  1. I think this was a couple people's favorite from last year. I can't remember who. I can't say I feel compelled to read (or listen) to it. I am sorry it didn't work for you, Joy, but glad you moved on. No sense listening to a book you aren't enjoying.

    1. Literary Feline ~ Abandoning books is something I have to work at. I know full well when I'm not enjoying a book, but it's just so hard for me to give it up because it may get better! It took me a while to get there, but a few years back I was able to do it. Unfortunately, I have slowly gotten back into the bad habit of finishing them - no matter what. :( Life is too short.

Good for you, Joy! I've seen this one on many "best of" lists, but somehow it never appealed to me.

    1. Thanks, Kay! :) I'm already so much happier with my replacement choice. Ahhh . . . Murder and mayhem! LOL Seriously, I don't like murder, or mayhem for that matter, but I love the procedural process of solving the cases and the chases!

    1. Bermudaonion ~ I tried. Starting out the year with a DNF is sad, but I'm confident that it'll help me get to better reads as the year progresses.

    1. Joanna ~ MOST reviews that I have seen have been positive, so I'm the odd one out. It's difficult for me to abandon books, and I was able to do so, there's the positive. :)

  6. Joy, I've given up on 5 books so far this year and it's only the 5th of January! :) At least I'm weeding out some of the older books from my stacks, though, right?

    1. Les ~ WOW! I'm impressed! I feel better now, thank you. :) It's great to weed through those books, and I will get there, too. It's going to take some practice though.

  8. I enjoyed this one but I read it as a book, not sure if it made a difference. But I definitely abandon books - too many books, too little time!

Good for you! But I think you would have ended up liking it, at least a little, if you'd continued. But life's short and there are way too many good books!

    1. Stacybuckeye ~ I struggled from the beginning, so maybe it was more a matter of timing - I don't know. Ultimately, I'm glad I set it aside.
