Haruki Murakami
Personal Rating: DNF
I decided to read this for my Personal Genre Challenge knowing full well that it was going to be a stretch. (That was the intention of the challenge.) However, after reading 71 pages, I discovered that I had no desire to read any further. In the DNF Pile it goes!
Not your cup of tea? At least you've tried one of his books. He's in my Unread Authors, so far.
ReplyDeleteCarrie K ~ I guess it wasn't; although, I didn't hate it. I just wasn't in the least bit interested in picking it back up again.
ReplyDeleteIt took me a while to warm up to Murakami's style and I know he's certainly not for everyone. At least you tried. :)
ReplyDeleteTanabata ~ Yes, I did. :) It's so hard for me to set a book aside without finishing it, but I'm getting better at it.
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Joy. There are too many other really good books and books that you'll find interesting to waste time on one that's just not delivering what you're in the mood for.
ReplyDeleteBooklogged ~ Yep! The older I get, the more I realize that.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think we really do have opposite reading tastes. :) Murakami definitely isn't for everyone, but I think it's great you know when to put books down that aren't for you! I'm trying to get better at that.
ReplyDeleteNyssaneala ~ I've noticed that we have different tastes, but that's okay. I get exposed to books that I normally wouldn't by reading your blog. :) I don't always succeed at setting a book aside, but I continue to try.
