Words are phenomenal, don't you think!?! Their makeup of extraordinary characters create an incredible power. Words can and do change lives.
I love the paths of new thinking that words create in my mind, therefore I read. This blog is a place for me to capture my feelings about the adventures I have taken within the confines of the written word. The following are purely my simple words of pleasure. Or not.
My Personal Rating Scale
5 = Absolutely Outstanding4.5 = Excellent4 = Very Good 3.5 = Good3 = Just Okay 2.5 = Eh2 = Not Enjoyable 1.5 = Ugh1 = Don't Bother
Wow! I think this one is best left to speak show for itself. I will say, however, that I was really taken by the profound impact it had on me. There's nothing in it that would prevent children from "reading" it, but the impression would not be as deep due to their lack of experience. Adults should definitely give it a viewing.
Trish ~ Honestly, I didn't mean for it to be a "teaser". I didn't know anything about this and LOVED discovering the message on my own. I just want the same for others. Try it, you'll like it. :)
This was my absolute favourite book of 2007, which completely blew me away given that it has no words! Just amazing, amazing pictures and great message.
I think that the message will also be somewhat personal for most people as well. I read it through with my 8 year old, and he got a completely different story out of it than I did, but it was definitely worthwhile sharing with him.
Arg...another teaser post. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks, Joy! To the list this goes, for sure!
ReplyDeleteDebi ~ My suggestion would be to go slowly. Take in every picture. I can't wait to read your thoughts.

Marg ~ That's what I thought about younger children "reading" it; however, there's nothing wrong with that! :)
