Wowsers! This was probably the most fun I've ever had in trying out a new genre. I can't believe how much I enjoyed it. I don't think I would have even stepped in the graphic novel direction had it not been for this challenge. This may be the end of the challenge, but it's only the beginning of graphic novels in my reading diet.
Thank you Dewey from The Hidden Side of a Leaf for hosting this challenge.

Same here! Though I've only read a couple so far for the challenge, I just can't get over how pleasantly surprised I've been with the experience.
ReplyDeleteHooray for you! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteDebi ~ Hip Hip Hooray for Dewey! Too bad I can't say that to Trish for classics. :)
ReplyDeleteI better send her over here, so she doesn't think I'm talking behind her back. *grin*
Trish ~ Is that grumbling? I don't think so, but I was just checkin'.
Teddy Rose ~ Thank you! Have you read any graphic novels?
Joy! You can't start bad talking the challenge BEFORE it starts!! Once you begin your classics THEN you can start grumbling (quietly--I don't want a mutiny on my hands!!). I don't know if you'll see my comment on the challenge blog--but I don't know how to delete your link! Help!?!?!
ReplyDeleteTrish ~ Oh my! No mutinies allowed! Nope, nope, nope. I'll be good. :) Well, I'll try to be good/better.
ReplyDeleteI've got it on Google Reader, so I saw the comment. I responded over there. :) Sorry, for the oops. Am I a thorn in your side? I'm causing you all kinds of grief today. Sorry.
Honestly, you are making me laugh. You are a stinker, but I'll let it slide...afterall you are joining the challenge, aren't you? If you were boycotting the challenge AND grumbling, then we might have a problem--might have to take it out back and duke it out.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any graphic novels yet. I don't usually care for them, but I am going to give PERSEPOLIS a try. I loved the movie.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing this already!
ReplyDeleteI've finished three so far, and I've loved all of them. This was a great challenge.
Trish ~ LOL I'm doing my best to participate with a smiling face. :)
ReplyDeleteTeddy Rose ~ I'm going to read Persepolis, too! I have no idea what it's about - never knew there was a movie, either. :)
3M ~ I'm glad you're enjoying your choices, too. I never thought I would like them as much as I do.
Persepolis is a autobiographical graphic novel:
ReplyDeleteThe story follows a young girl as she comes of age against the backdrop of the Iranian Revolution, and shows how her family's hopes for change were slowly dashed as the Islamic fundamentalists took power, drastically curtailing personal liberties, forcing head coverings on women and imprisoning thousands; the story ends with Marjane as a 21-year-old expatriate. The title is a reference to the historic city of Persepolis.
Persepolis ~ Ahhhh. Thank you. :) I hope to enjoy it as I have most of the graphic novels.
