This fifth in the series was my first introduction to Stephen White and his character Dr. Alan Gregory. I, unfortunately, was under the impression that Dr. Gregory was a doctor-doctor, not a clinical psychologist, so I was expecting something totally different from what I got. Not only that, he was hardly even in the book! The plot focused on his wife and others. So, not a great one for me to choose as my introduction (closest to #1 in audio that I had), but I will give him another try as Mr. Joy has enjoyed several in this series.
I wonder if it would have been better if you'd started the series at the beginning.
