Scott Finn, formerly a lawyer in a prestigious Boston firm, is currently a private practicing lawyer. He's in association with a police officer turned private investigator and a legal intern. A convicted immigrant's innocence has been brought to light (after serving over a decade in prison), and Finn, along with his crew, become involved in the case.
My rating reflects my dislike for the language the legal intern used . . . constantly! Her foul mouth could actually be less than other books I've listened to, but it rubbed me the wrong way at this point in time. Also, it irritated me that the narrator said "short lived" as "short dived" with a "l," approximately 5 times! Ugh!
As for the plot, it was very strong, interesting and had some good twists and turns. I actually learned a little bit about fingerprinting, too. The characters were well-developed, even though I didn't necessarily like any of them. Even so, I'll be reading or listening to #3, as I enjoy the legal aspects of this series.
Unfortunately I think a lot of young people have serious potty mouths these days. It would be harder to take on audio, though.
ReplyDeleteBermudaonion ~ Sadly, I agree with you. It's not necessary!
DeleteI haven't really gotten into a good legal thriller in a while!! This one must not be too bad if you're going back for book 3!!
ReplyDeleteStaci ~ Did you read Defending Jacob?
