THE ART AND SCIENCE OF TEACHING

Author:  Robert Marzano
Genre:  Non-Fiction, Standalone
Published:  2007
Personal Rating:  3.5/5 (good)
Format:  Book
Yearly Count:  13

The book focuses on 10 questions that are designed to encourage teachers to have a successful plan regarding lesson plans to classroom management.  Marzano is known for his research, and this book collects a lot of it.  Therefore, it's filled with researched-based graphs, charts and a multitude of research results.  All the research was appreciated and somewhat interesting, but after a while I began skimming those parts.

I would not have read this book, if it weren't for a book study my district was providing.  I'm all for refreshing my techniques or learning new ones!  Most of this book can be applied to my current position, but would suit teachers with classrooms more effectively.  The questions and strategies are worth (re)visiting - even for experienced teachers, and afterwards you can take what works for you.

    1. Staci ~ There's not anything necessarily "new" in this one, but definitely a good reminder, and researched-based which is very important.
