PLEASE IGNORE VERA DIETZ

Author:  A. S. King
Genre:  YA Fiction, Standalone
Published:  2011
Personal Rating:  2.5/5 (eh)
Format/Narrator:  Audiobook/Lynde Houck
Yearly Count:  36

Vera is grappling with her relationship with her best friend and neighbor, Charlie.

This wasn't a good audioread for me.  I found the para-normal aspect silly and the storyline unrealistic.  It's not that I didn't like or care for the characters, it just never gripped me.  I did like when other characters made short and sweet appearances, though.  That was interesting.  However, ultimately, it was pretty much a middle of the road book with some negative aspects.  Eh.

  1. I read it because of the rave reviews. I also gave it a 2.5 stars... I read it back in jan 2011, and I seriously can't remember much about the plot now...

Here's my review if you are interested:

    1. Christa ~ I didn't seek it out, but when I saw it at the library I grabbed it because of the rave reviews. I'll come by to see what you said.

  2. Eh. Very sad. I've read such promising reviews of this author's other book, something with Ant in the title. I thought about checking it out at the library but never did follow through with it.

    1. Staci ~ There are many, many promising reviews of this one, too. I didn't dislike it, it was just eh. I don't think it was worth my time, though. That's a bummer. If you venture into Vera's world, I hope you find it endearing.
