Special Agent Will Trent gets summoned by Dr. Sara Linton to Grant County, who just happens to be home for the Thanksgiving holiday, to investigate a murder and suicide.
This was another good addition to the series, but I was confused many times due to reading this series out of order (#5 before #4) and having read a book in the Sara Linton series recently. Too many events got jumbled up in my mind. The jury is still out on whether I like the fusion of these two series. I think I'd prefer separate, but we'll see.
For me, the narration was terrible. I was incredibly annoyed and would cringe when the line included "She gave a loud sniff." or "He coughed a dry, hacking sound." or anything that described a noise the narrator could make because she did! She would sniff or cough or chuckle or whatever. This is an audiobook, not drama or acting class. Just read the book, please. UGH!
