Lucy Barton is in the hospital recuperating from a routine surgery. During Lucy's stay, her estranged mother comes to visit her in the hospital.
After not caring for and giving up on Olive Kitteridge, I decided to give this author another try. I decide that AFTER I discovered it was only 4 CDs. (insert smirky face here) I am glad that I made it through, but it was incredibly bland and disjointed. Neither of which make for a good experience for me. However, I can appreciate the author's talent. :) She incorporated a lot of emotional topics, which could provoke some deep discussion.

I've been trying to figure out why this author's name was so familiar. Ha! I do understand being able to appreciate an author without really caring for the material.
ReplyDeleteTrish ~ :) I need some action or incredibly gripping dialog in my books. It wasn't horrible or anything like that -- just on the boring side.
DeleteI liked Olive Kitteridge, but it took several chapters to get to that point. This new book of hers seems to be getting a lot of "meh" reviews, so I'm going to skip it.
