From NetGalley:
Anne and Marco Conti seem to have it all—a loving relationship, a wonderful home, and their beautiful baby, Cora. But one night when they are at a dinner party next door, a terrible crime is committed. Suspicion immediately focuses on the parents. But the truth is a much more complicated story.

Inside the curtained house, an unsettling account of what actually happened unfolds. Detective Rasbach knows that the panicked couple is hiding something. Both Anne and Marco soon discover that the other is keeping secrets, secrets they've kept for years.

What follows is the nerve-racking unraveling of a family—a chilling tale of deception, duplicity, and unfaithfulness that will keep you breathless until the final shocking twist.

This was a good book.  It kept me interested and engaged throughout; however, it wasn't edge-of-my-seat good or couldn't-put-down good (which would actually be very good or better).  I did like it though and glad to have read it.

Thoughts of Joy

My thanks go to Penguin Group and NetGalley for providing me with the eGalley.

  1. I liked this a lot until the end which was too convoluted for me.

  2. I'm getting a little burned out on this type of thriller, so I think I'll pass since you didn't give it a 4 or 5. I'm going to spend November reading nothing but nonfiction, so maybe by December I'll be ready for some more thrillers.
