This is one of the books that I have seen on every teachers' bookshelf. I have been meaning to read my copy of it for a very long time now. I finally decided to read it because I needed a book that I could pick up and put down easily. This book just happened to be a very small paperback consisting of 12 very short animal stories, so it fit the bill. They were not all that interesting, but I can understand the use of the individual stories in an elementary classroom. Overall, it wasn't that great of a read.
