"D" Title-Based A ~ Z Reads

DIRTY BLONDE
Lisa Scottoline ~ BOiPod
Personal Rating: 3.5/5

This was my third Lisa Scottoline book and with each one, a higher rating has been achieved. Legal novels/thrillers is a favorite genre of mine, so that alone may have greatly contributed to my enjoyment. The story did not keep me deeply engrossed, but it did hold my attention and I looked forward to listening to more. I hope my trend of personal enjoyment continues and the next one is even better yet.

  1. I have had this book on hold at our library for 3 months. I think they've had it on order since it was first released and just haven't gotten it processed. So aggravating. I'm very anxious to read Dirty Blonde. I love Scottoline's work.

  2. Sometimes all you really need from a book is one that holds your attention! I call those my "sure things." I don't expect to be blown away, I just want something to entertain me for a bit -- like visiting with a friend you know makes the time pass.

Thanks for the comment on Sharp Objects. You are FAST!

  3. Oops! Sorry Jerry...forgot to respond.

Thanks for stopping by and for the compliment.

You are right in that I do get my books from the library. I seem to be one of the few ardent readers that do not buy books. I do purchase reference books though.

I will stop for a visit on your blog soon.

  4. Surly ~ You make a VERY good point. Sometimes I expect to be "blown away" and really it isn't even near the author's intent. I will have to keep that in mind. I don't think it'll change my rating, but it's good to be on the same page as the author. :)

  5. Joy,

I've gotten way behind on Scottoline's series and I'm glad to see your comment about each one improving over the one before. I'll have to get back to them, soon, although I lost my copy of Everywhere That Mary Went, darn it. I want to start from the beginning and my library doesn't have that one!!

BTW, love your blog. Can I add you to my blog list, too?

  6. Bookfool,

I am a "start from the beginning" kind of gal too, but sometimes I mess up by mistake. And sometimes I feel overwhelmed to "have to" read ALL those books to get to the current ones, so I give in.

Thank you for the compliment and I'd be honored to be added to your blog list. :)

Isn't blogging just too much fun!?!

    Happy Reading!

  7. Joy,

I actually tend to read things out of order but I got partway into Lisa Scottoline's series and then stalled because of a phase I went through (I couldn't read anything dark, for a while and still have to be careful because I get whopper nightmares), so I kinda just want to start over. I was really enjoying it till I quit reading mysteries and such, temporarily. :)

Oh, yes. I *heart* blogging. LOL

Happy reading right back at ya!!
