VANISH
Tess Gerritsen ~ BOiPod
Personal Rating: 4/5
Vanish is a thriller packed with an assortment of events that keeps your antennae raised for the majority of the book. It deals with international and local government issues, hostage situations, family relationships, medical topics, and good guy/bad guy happenings. With all of that, I thought this was going to be a real winner, but unfortunately for me, it lost its oomph about two-thirds of the way through. There were still surprises past that point, but for some reason it no longer enticed me. Make no mistake; it was still good, it just seemed a little too “pat” towards the end...kind of disappointing in relationship to the beginning, but still a very good read/listen.

Seems like an awful lot of plot and conflict to put in one book!
ReplyDeleteJoy-I saw Tess Gerritson at Barnes and Noble on Friday-she just walked in unannounced to sign books! It was amazing. I'm going to post about it on Booklovers tomorrow.-Kate
ReplyDeleteKate ~ WOW, NO WAY! You just happened to be there? Did you buy one and get it signed? How exciting! :)
ReplyDeleteI love mystery/suspense and yet have never read Gerritsen. I look forward to correcting that oversight. Your review makes this sound like an enticing read.
ReplyDeleteIt would be way exciting to be browsing and have an author just stroll in to sign books. Pretty darn cool.
