3rd Completed Challenge!

Young Adult novels was a new genre to me this year. I have read a couple in the past, but during the past few months I have been immersed in it and know that I have only scratched the surface! While I have met the quota for the challenge, my Young Adult reading is not over. I have many more on my list to read, so I will be continuing. Continuing with pleasure.

A Child Called It (Pelzer)

  1. Congratulations on finishing up so early. It's wonderful how many really good YA novels are out there.

That was quick! It's always nice to try and new genre and find out you really like it! I am reading Coraline this year too, but I am sorry you didn't like New Moon.

  3. Wow...congrats on finishing, Joy! Not that there was any doubt you'd finish, but finish before the end of March. Man, you put me to shame :)

  4. Booklogged ~ Thank you! It's been a fun experience. I'm not positive, but I think it was you recommending The Goose Girl that started the thought process of YA books. Thank you, again!

Rhino ~ I don't care for the entire genre of New Moon, so it wasn't necessarily just that book. I was surprised when I enjoyed Twilight.

You'll probably love Coraline. I liked it, but that one is out of my comfort zone, too. I console myself with the fact that at least I try new genres. On occasion, I like them. :)

Debi ~ Debi, Debi, Debi ... they are YA books (shorter and easier)! And, I believe I listened to most of them. You give me way too much credit.

  5. Joy,
So what if they happen to shorter...I've still only gotten one of mine checked off the list so far! And listening takes just as long, or longer, than reading them. So no, I am not giving you too much credit, my dear!

  7. Debi ~ I do have to admit that listening to books often does take longer, but still. :)

Melissa ~ It's been a fun adventure and I really appreciate being introduced to Violet. I look forward to reading Violet by Design.

  9. I love YA books and have read several on your list. I'm not surprised Elsewhere was on your "least favorites" list, although a lot of people love it. The idea of aging backwards just didn't work for me; and, the fact that the author doesn't even believe in an afterlife (and I read that before getting too far into the book) pretty much ruined it for me.

  10. Trish ~ Thank you! They have been fun, fun, fun! :)

Bookfool ~ So...I had a change of heart this morning and decided to delete by first comment to you. That was not nice. However, I still think that my thoughts on the book were kind.
