Author: Ron RashGenre: Short Story, CollectionPublished: Chemistry and Other Stories, 2007Personal Rating: 4/5(ss) Yearly Count: 6Deep Gap is a look into a father's love for his wayward son.As usual, this is another compelling Southern story. The setting, the emotions, the pictures in my mind were clear as a bell. And, to top it off - there was suspense!

You've really been enjoying this collection!! How many stories are there in all?
ReplyDeleteI've never read anything by Ron Rash, but I do have his new novel, Serena, checked out from the library. I hope I like it!
ReplyDeleteI love short story collections, so if I do like the novel I may need to pick this up!
Trish ~ Yes, I have thoroughly enjoyed this collection. I believe there are 13 short stories and I have 2 more to go. I have loved reading it piecemeal.
ReplyDeleteCassie ~ I have Serena, patiently waiting on my TBR shelf, along with another one of his books. Here are my thoughts on One Foot in Eden. I've been, temporarily, able to get my Ron Rash/Southern reading fix by reading his short stories. :)
Glad you liked this one Joy!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do that -- four sentences! But, I got everything I need to know out of your review. I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteDar ~ Unfortunately, I only have 2 more to go. Fortunately, I have other work by him waiting in the wings.
ReplyDeleteBookfool ~ LOL short story = short thoughts :)
Thanks for steering me to your review of James Swain's first Jack Carpenter book. It makes me want to read it all the more. I'll be going to the library on Monday and I'm hoping they have it.
ReplyDeleteNice blog you have here!
Linda ~ Thank you. :) And, I'm happy to find out it wasn't a standalone any longer! I look forward to your review.
