This collection was my introduction to Jhumpa Lahiri's work, and it was definitely a worthy read - I enjoyed it. I read the first story at the end of April, but didn't get moving until I decided to listen to the audio version at the end of July. I look forward to more.

The following are the individual titles and links to my thoughts:

  3. I have her book The Namesake and Interpreter of Maladies. I started to read the latter--also short stories--but they were a little on the depressing side for me at the time. I'll have to give her another go.

To answer your questions--yes a haircut, just finished my first machine quilted quilt, and most of my lack of reading has come from losing my morning and lunch reading time because of busy work. It happens, I guess. :) I have been filling the void with audiobooks lately.

Hope you're having a wonderful summer, Joy.

  5. Trish ~ I heard that her stories were gloomy as well. But I really liked her writing style, so I imagine I will get to those books some day.

Hooray for audiobooks!!! I love them. They really do provide that needed fix when other options aren't available.

My summer has been very good! I'm enjoying the down time - maybe too much because I'm not catching up on other stuff that needs to get done. Oh well. I'm not going to worry about it. (That would spoil the down time, wouldn't it?) *grin*

Hope you are enjoying your summer, too!

Staci ~ Woo hoo! I'm excited out it. :)
