Three teenagers in a psychiatric hospital for attempted suicide voice their experience of the past and present.
This is the first Hopkins book that didn't really grab me. I was interested in the stories shared, but I never emotionally connected to the teenagers.
Hopkins is on my list of authors to try. I'll have to try to remember not to start with this one.
ReplyDeleteBermudaonion ~ I don't know if all her books are written in verse, but the 5 that I experienced have been. I found listening to them more enjoyable than reading. Crank (the trilogy) was really good because it is based on her family (daughter).
ReplyDeleteI liked this one but I remember feeling a bit of the same way in regards to not really connecting with her characters. She's still a fave of mine though.
ReplyDeleteKathy and Joy- all of her books are in verse.
ReplyDeleteStaci ~ Even though this one was "just okay," I still plan on listening to more. She touches on sensitive topics that I don't know a lot about, so they teach me something, and I like that.
