This futuristic YA novel focuses on the relationship between Titus and Violet, both of which have a feed wired into their brains. The feed is a barrage of information from the Internet, television and smart phones combined.
I had no idea what this book was about and was pleasantly surprised at how it kept my attention. The unique plot was intriguing, and I liked the main characters. The narrator of the audiobook exaggerated the voices of a few and that ruined it a bit for me, but overall it was an interesting book.
I have heard good things about this one but it's never struck my attention. HOWEVER, I see you're listening to State of Wonder? Would you recommend on audio?
ReplyDeleteTrish ~ I just happened to see it at the library and thought I'd give it a try.
DeleteI'm only on disc 2 of 11, but so far, so good. Stay tuned:)
Wow, I would not have tagged you as having liked this one! Glad you did though :-) Can't say I was terribley impressed myself; It was just ok for me. I hated the swearing and didn't like any of the characters! LOL
ReplyDeleteNicola ~ I did NOT like the swearing either, but I did like the two main characters. Also, I loved that it kept my attention when the previous book I listened to left my mind to wander.
DeleteSounds like a thought provoking book.
ReplyDeleteBermudaonion ~ It was, but I didn't find it too profound.
DeleteI tried to read this one a while back...didn't get into it but I should try it again.
ReplyDeleteStaci ~ It had interesting components to it that made it unique. In the audiobook, the feed had commercials that sounded just like commercials.
