To avoid spoilers:
Lena is out in the Wilds without her beloved Alex.
I was tricked . . . by myself! When this first came out, I was reminded of the hype and love of Delirium. I read Delirium, so I thought I loved it as well - not the case. After listening to several CDs of Pandemonium, I looked up my thoughts on Delirium. Apparently, I thought it was "good," but my reaction was nowhere near what others thought. Needless to say, I had already jumped into this one with much anticipation and was being disappointed. It clearly reads as an aptly assigned, Young Adult book and so predictable it hurt.

Sorry to see it was a disappointment.
ReplyDeleteBermudaonion ~ Others are loving it. It just wasn't for me.
DeleteI have been meaning to read the first book as I enjoy YA dystopian. I wonder if I should bother with this series...?
ReplyDeleteChrista ~ I think Delirium was worth the read because it had unique plotlines. However, this one was too pat. They both are well received, so I'd give the series a try. The first has a major cliff hanger, so be prepared with the second. :) Unfortunately, I will not finish the trilogy. I have no interest.
DeleteIt hurt??? Everyone raves about book one and I almost bought it today at audible.com with their 25% sale...whew! I dodged a bullet. I will look them up in print...maybe!
ReplyDeleteStaci ~ Yes, it hurt in a pathetic way. Ugh-like! :) The problem is that the first is interesting (the dystopian concept), but it leaves you with a major cliff hanger and you want to know what happens. For me, finding out what happened wasn't worth it. I'd ask somebody. Just like I did for the Twilight series. :)
