PANDEMONIUM

Author: Lauren Oliver
Genre: YA Dystopian, Trilogy #2
Published: 2012
Personal Rating: 2/5 (not enjoyable)
Format: Audiobook
Yearly Count: 54

To avoid spoilers:
Lena is out in the Wilds without her beloved Alex.

I was tricked . . . by myself!  When this first came out, I was reminded of the hype and love of Delirium.  I read Delirium, so I thought I loved it as well - not the case.  After listening to several CDs of Pandemonium, I looked up my thoughts on Delirium.  Apparently, I thought it was "good," but my reaction was nowhere near what others thought.  Needless to say, I had already jumped into this one with much anticipation and was being disappointed.  It clearly reads as an aptly assigned, Young Adult book and so predictable it hurt.

  2. I have been meaning to read the first book as I enjoy YA dystopian. I wonder if I should bother with this series...?

    1. Christa ~ I think Delirium was worth the read because it had unique plotlines. However, this one was too pat. They both are well received, so I'd give the series a try. The first has a major cliff hanger, so be prepared with the second. :) Unfortunately, I will not finish the trilogy. I have no interest.

  3. It hurt??? Everyone raves about book one and I almost bought it today at audible.com with their 25% sale...whew! I dodged a bullet. I will look them up in print...maybe!

    1. Staci ~ Yes, it hurt in a pathetic way. Ugh-like! :) The problem is that the first is interesting (the dystopian concept), but it leaves you with a major cliff hanger and you want to know what happens. For me, finding out what happened wasn't worth it. I'd ask somebody. Just like I did for the Twilight series. :)
