This promotional statement was hard to resist:
"THE LAST WINTER OF DANI LANCING is a shockingly disturbing and deeply powerful debut, and P.D. Viner immediately joins the ranks of Tana French, A. S. A. Harrison and Gillian Flynn."
Unfortunately, I really struggled with getting a grip on this book and after 7% I decided to set it aside to give it another chance later (not considering it a DNF . . . yet). Well, I have decided that I do not want to pick it up again due to the fact that I don't want to work so hard to like it.
My thanks go to Crown Publishing and NetGalley for providing me with this eGalley.
I read another review that said you really have to concentrate with this book. I have it on audio and probably won't try it until after the holidays.
ReplyDeleteBermudaonion ~ Having "to concentrate" on reading a book is too much work for this reader!
DeleteOh I'd just borrowed this. Guess I'll pick this up when I am in the mood to concentrate then! Just finished a 500+ page fiction, so want some quick read next...
ReplyDeleteChrista ~ I think it had "ghosts" in it, too. Not my taste. Good luck to you with it. I hope you love it. :)
DeleteI have yet to read a good review (or one that convinces me to read this one)! Sorry it wasn't a winner for you.
ReplyDeleteLes ~ Really?!? That kind of softens the blow/disappointment.
DeleteIt would be hard to resist with comparisons like that!
ReplyDeleteStacybuckeye ~ Apparently it was for me! LOL
