THE LAST WINTER OF DANI LANCING

Author:  P. D. Viner
Genre:  Fiction, Standalone
Published:  2013
Personal Rating:  DNF #6
Format:  eBook

This promotional statement was hard to resist:

"THE LAST WINTER OF DANI LANCING is a shockingly disturbing and deeply powerful debut, and P.D. Viner immediately joins the ranks of Tana French, A. S. A. Harrison and Gillian Flynn."

Unfortunately, I really struggled with getting a grip on this book and after 7% I decided to set it aside to give it another chance later (not considering it a DNF . . . yet).  Well, I have decided that I do not want to pick it up again due to the fact that I don't want to work so hard to like it.

My thanks go to Crown Publishing and NetGalley for providing me with this eGalley.

  1. I read another review that said you really have to concentrate with this book. I have it on audio and probably won't try it until after the holidays.

    1. Bermudaonion ~ Having "to concentrate" on reading a book is too much work for this reader!

  2. Oh I'd just borrowed this. Guess I'll pick this up when I am in the mood to concentrate then! Just finished a 500+ page fiction, so want some quick read next...

    1. Christa ~ I think it had "ghosts" in it, too. Not my taste. Good luck to you with it. I hope you love it. :)

  3. I have yet to read a good review (or one that convinces me to read this one)! Sorry it wasn't a winner for you.
