PAPERBOY

Author:  Vince Vawter
Genre:  Young Adult, Standalone
Published:  2013
Personal Rating:  3.25/5 (just okay +)
Format/Narrator:  Audiobook/Lincoln Hoppe

For a month in Memphis, 1959, a 6th grade boy takes over a paper route for his friend.

While I liked the main character, I didn't find him to be endearing.  Learning his thoughts regarding his disability was interesting, but there wasn't much new there for me being that I work with children.  The other characters in the book were very diverse.

There was a host of topics/issues explored, and some that were not appropriate for children - hence, my YA label.  It actually was packed with too much.  After being asked what book I just finished, I described it and then realized how boring it sounded.  It really wasn't boring, but it didn't touch me in any significant way.
