SO COLD THE RIVER

Author:  Michael Koryta
Genre:  Paranormal, Standalone
Published:  2010
Personal Rating:  2/5 (not enjoyable)
Format/Narrator:  Audiobook/Robert Petkoff
Yearly Count:  24

A dejected filmmaker is asked to make a documentary about a 95-year-old billionaire.  He isn't given much to go on except a childhood location and an old bottle of water.

Oh dear.  This is NOT a genre I like - at all.  The only reason I kept listening was because I really like Robert Petkoff, and I was too busy sewing to take the time to find another audiobook.  AND, I actually kinda liked the main character . . . that is until the end.  Anything else I say would be negative, so I'll end here.

  1. I've only read one by this author (The Prophet). It was a decent audio, but somewhat forgettable. Think I'll skip this one.

    1. Les ~ I really, really enjoyed The Prophet. The others I read I believe were in a series. I thought the first one was very good and the second . . . just okay. I felt like he was trying to make it like Joe Hill's Heart-Shaped Box. So, that being said, you may like it more than I did. Probably would, in fact. :)

  2. Bermudaonion ~ I didn't know how much "paranormal" would play a part, because I did know that it had some wonky component to it. It turned out to be a bit too much for me!

  3. I didn't know there was a lot of paranormal. That would probably ruin it for me too!

    1. Stacybuckeye ~ "A lot" is subjective. It was too much for me.
