I had no idea what this book was about before I began listening to it. Once I got into it, I never bought into the storyline. Could it happen? Yes. However, it would be very unlikely. The girl's character seemed more out of place than the man's.

I'm sorry you didn't like this one, Joy. I remember really liking it when I read it and have been meaning to read more by Shreve since. It hasn't happened. Maybe someday.

DeleteI read this many years ago with my f2f book club and absolutely loved it. It's my favorite thus far of Anita Shreve's. So sorry you were disappointed!
