Best Reads of 2019

Well . . . it wasn't a very productive reading/listening year, but I anticipated that.  Reading is missed, but I can't do it all.  I still read and listen a little bit everyday, so that's my norm for now.

I read 33 books (with a 26 book goal) in 2019.  Six books made it to my "Best Reads" list (4/5 or higher) this year.  They are all non-fiction.  It consistently shows up as my favorite genre!
My Best Reads of 2019 are as follows:

1.  The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up (Kondo) ~ Non-Fiction
4.25/5 (very good +)

2.  Educated (Westover) ~ Memoir
4/5 (very good)

3.  Born a Crime (Noah) ~ Memoir
4.5/5 (excellent)

4.  Comprehension Connections (McGregor) ~ Non-Fiction
4.5/5 (excellent)

5.  The Michigan Murders (Keyes) ~ Non-Fiction
4.5/5 (excellent)

6.  Talking to Strangers (Gladwell) ~ Non-Fiction
4.25/5 (very good +)

  2. Very nice to see a post from you! And though I haven't read any of your non-fiction, I do own Educated. Have heard good things about a couple of others as well. I struggle with reading non-fiction, but audio sometimes makes it better. Happy reading in 2020! You're right - we can't do it all.

Happy New Year to you and as I said, nice to see a post from you!

    1. Have you read Educated, Kay? I have increased my physical books this year, but I still love an audiobook.

  3. I read a lot of great nonfiction this year, too. I have a copy of Gladwell's book on my shelf, as well as Educated. Just haven't gotten to them yet! I enjoyed Mari Kondo's book, as well as Trevor Noah's.

Happy New Year! Hope all is well with you.

    1. I really enjoy non-fiction, but I don't think I've read many, if any at all, this year. (2022) Hmmm.
