AUGUST
NON-FICTION FIVE CHALLENGE READS:
By the Sword was a great book about fencing and how it all started. :) I enjoyed it quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteJoy - Oops! Can you delete the first one? Technically I finished this book at the end of July, but my internet was sketchy up in Taos so I'm just now posting. Glad I read The City of Falling Angels, but I think I'll have to re-read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil soon--I think that one might have been better.
ReplyDeleteLover of Books ~ That's great. I don't know anything about fencing.
ReplyDeleteTrish ~ It's all fixed. :)
I finally added my Aug. review. I think I missed July...ooops.
ReplyDeleteFinished #4 :-)
ReplyDeleteWow that is book 4 and 5 done - so this means I have completed the challenge - Whew!
ReplyDeleteThanks for running it Joy - I have started to read more Non-Fiction than I use to - and have picked up a few more to put in my TBR pile
Yea! Now as soon as I finish Blue Shoe (which I am not liking right now) I can start The Only Road North and do the review for September ;). Thanks for all your support while I struggled....the sun is peeking through today ;) Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI am either very confused or something is wrong with my browser or something has gone wrong with the post because I'm not seeing anywhere for me to add my link... Help!
ReplyDeleteMatt ~ I posted it for you. :)
ReplyDeleteFinished book #4 a week ago - finally posted a link!
ReplyDeleteDebD ~ That's okay...no big deal.
ReplyDeleteSuzi ~ Hooray!
Sally906 ~ Congratulations!!! I'm so glad to hear that you want to read more non-fiction and that you have added more to your TBR pile. That's a good thing right? :)
Danielle ~ I can't wait to read what you have to say about THE ONLY ROAD NORTH. Glad to know your spirits are rising. :)
Krin ~ Yea!
Finished my August book. Sorry I'm not much of a reviewer!
ReplyDeleteEileen ~ Everybody has their own style and purpose for their blog. Whatever you do is just fine! Glad you finished another one. :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed my August selection, River of Shadows, about Eadweard Muybridge who did the early stop-motion photographs of running horses. Something I probably would never have gotten around to if I wasn't doing this challenge!
ReplyDeleteDebbie ~ I'm so glad the NFF Challenge was encouraging to you and that you really enjoyed your choice. :)
ReplyDeleteI actually read 2 non-fiction books this month since I won't be able to read one next month - so I'm finished!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed both that I read, they were very different books. Sword & Blossom is about a British militay man who falls in love with a Japanese women in the early 1900's, Cabin Pressure is about a 34-year old man who goes back to summer camp for one last time.
Yeah!!!!!!!! I didn't think I'd ever be finished with this one! The second half was much better (after my whiny blog post), but not much. :( But its finished...forever!
ReplyDeleteJoy - I forgot to include the title of the book I read. Wanna add it or can you delete my linky and I can post it again. Thanks. Oh, the book was Loud and Clear.
ReplyDeleteKris ~ Congratulations! That's great that you had successful reads!
ReplyDeleteTrish ~ Whew! says Joy as she wipes the sweat off her brow. *giggle, giggle*
Les ~ I'll fix it. No problem. :)
