Two sisters living in France at the time of the occupation choose different paths of survival.
I'm not terribly surprised that I didn't love this book like others have, but I did rate it higher than the other books I read by Hannah, so that's good news. Sadly, the characters didn't feel real to me nor their storylines, and it was dreadfully long. There were parts that did feel genuine, and I was interested enough to want to know how their lives turned out (sorta), but ultimately, it was just a decent audioread. I just don't think this author is my cup of tea.
Thoughts of Joy
I still need to read Hannah. I think I read one of her earlier romancey books and didn't love it, but she does get a lot og blog love.
ReplyDeleteStacybuckeye ~ She sure does! She won't miss me. :)
DeleteI've only read one or two books by Hannah, but I don't remember how I felt about them. I've got this one on my stack (an ARC) and I'm looking forward to it. Hope I like it better than you did. :)
ReplyDeleteLes ~ I did think it was "good", so I imagine you'll like it just fine. :)
