I just completed By the Decades Challenge and the Book Awards Challenge (all Newbery titles); overall, I enjoyed them both. Rejoining the Decades Challenge 2008 is the perfect opportunity for me to accommodate my desire to continue reading the award winning titles, so this time around I have incorporated 4 Newbery books into the mix.

ReplyDeleteHmmm...I love a reading challenge. I will have to give some thought to commiting to this one...it's quite tempting since there are quite a few 'old' novels that I would like to read now that I'm 'older' and can appreciate them ;)

ReplyDeleteBooklogged ~ Not at all! The early decades are VERY difficult for me to fill and I still have the "Newbery bug", so this worked out perfectly. I hope it works for you, too. :)
ReplyDeleteAnne of Green Gables is simply the best life to step through the pages. You can't stop at the first book... you have to read all of them, see her grow up, find out who she marries, grieve with her. These were tattered books in my childhood home.

ReplyDeleteAgatha Christie has some early decades books - at least the 20s I think. Also Sherlock Holmes, if you are a mystery fan.
