COMFORT & JOY

Author: Kristin Hannah
Genre: Fiction, Standalone
Published: 2005
Personal Rating: 1.5/5 (ugh)
Yearly Count: 141

Joy is newly divorced and has a heavy heart regarding the circumstances. She decides she needs to get away and start over. Joy's travel plans take a dive. She finds herself in a plane crash and then discovers her life.

Hokey, hokey, hokey. This was so not a book for me. Why did I continue? It was an audiobook, and I was on the road - only reason. Often I found myself dizzy, due to the continual eye-rolling. Ugh. I was warned and didn't take the warning seriously enough. My bad.

  6. Yes, you were warned. And you even said, "Oh. I have this on my iPod. I think I'll skip it. Thank you, Les. :)" in a comment on my review back in Nov. 2008. :) Oh, well. At least it was short, right? ;)

  7. Bybee ~ I'm sure others like it. It's just wasn't my cup of tea.

Les ~ LOL I should have deleted it from my iPod right then and there! I decided to listen to it in the long run because it was a Christmas story and that's what I wanted then. Grrr

Even though I truly feel the way I expressed in my thoughts - I feel bad. I really need to temper them, but I don't. I do want to add that my thoughts of the book have nothing to do with Kristin Hannah's quality of writing per se, I just didn't care for the story.

  8. Well that was odd! What happened to my other responses?!?

    Nicola ~ Me, too! :)

Mary ~ That was weird hearing my name in a story I didn't like. :(

Merry Christmas to you, too, Mary! :)

Bermudaonion ~ It was too corny for my taste. Those that like that type of book would love it.

    Samantha.1020 ~ Glad I could bring a smile to your face. :)

Literary Feline ~ Sometimes I don't make wise choices. :(

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! These days it's difficult to keep up even just with my own blog, and I appreciate it to receive comments when I'm unable to reciprocate. Hopefully this week!
