In 1970, a mother and her two girls lived in California in a nomadic fashion. The girls make a decision to seek out family across the country when their mother is out searching for herself and hasn't been seen for weeks on end.
This was just okay. I didn't find it to be endearing or heartbreaking -- it just was. I didn't dislike anything, but I didn't like anything either. Whatever.
I definitely liked this one more than you did.
ReplyDeleteBermudaonion ~ Wish I had liked it more. Oh well.
DeleteThat's kind of how I felt when reading the description of this one. LOL I think I'll skip this one.
ReplyDeleteLiterary Feline ~ It was a bit unrealistic, too.
DeleteI haven't been inspired to read her novels. The Glass Castles was depressing enough!
ReplyDeleteLes ~ I was fascinated by The Glass Castle, but this fiction book didn't come near.
DeleteBummer since I LOVED The Glass Castle. Oh well, too little time to read all the books I think I should anyway :)
ReplyDeleteStacybuckeye ~ Ain't that the truth!!! : /
DeleteI loved the Glass Castle and also liked Half Broke Horses. Sorry this one was meh.
ReplyDeleteChrista ~ Glad to see that you liked HBH. I haven't read it yet, but think I have it.
